FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS & ANSWERS Here are some questions and answers to help you get a feel for my work process. These are the questions that I am most asked when consulting with new clients. If you have any questions that I haven't addressed below please feel free to ask here. Thank you so much for you interest! I look forward to collaborating with you... Q What is the best way to contact you about getting a tattoo? The fastest way is to e-mail me through my website, or if you'd prefer you can call the studio at 941.358.7779. Because I am most often tattooing when I am in the studio and not available to talk, it is best to e-mail me with your contact info to set up a consultation if you'd like to talk about your tattoo ideas. Q What should I bring to a consultation? You should bring any visual reference you have or can find to help me get a sense of what type of tattoo design you are envisioning for yourself, including photographs, artwork, etc. The better you can describe to me what you are envisioning, the better I can design what you want. If your vision is not totally clear or you are open to my input you don't necessarily need to bring any reference, but if you have it, it helps. In order to set tattoo appointments I require a non-refundable deposit, most often $180, but for larger projects like sleeves and back pieces up to $300-$500. This deposit comes out of the price of the tattoo, so that the last hour or several hours is paid for upfront, and is collected at the initial consultation. Q How quickly can I get my tattoo? I generally stay booked out 8-12 weeks, so if you'd like to get tattooed on a particular date or timeframe, please contact me with appropriate time for scheduling. Due to cancelations and scheduling changes I can sometimes get you in sooner, so do always check if you're interested. Q How much do you charge? My rate is $180/hour with a 2 hour minimum. Time is based on actual tattoo time; there is no charge for setup, breaks or drawing time. Q How much will my tattoo cost? My rate is $180/hr, and how long a tattoo will take depends on size, detail, placement, your skin, how well you sit, etc. I can sometimes give a guesstimate for smaller pieces when I get an idea of what you're looking for, but larger projects are pretty much by the hour. It's really tough to give estimates without seeing the image and area where the tattoo is going in person. What's best is to set up a consultation where I can give you a little better of an idea and answer any other questions you may have. Q Is there any additional fee for designing a custom tattoo for me? There is no drawing or designing fee for custom original tattoos. Designing fees are included in the hourly rate. However, before I begin drawing your design I will need to collect a non-refundable deposit that will eventually be deducted from the total price of your tattoo. This deposit is generally $180, but for larger projects like sleeves and back pieces it can range from $300-$500. Q Can I see my drawing before my appointment date? Because I keep a pretty full workload it's hard for me to show drawings before the day of the appointment, but when setting up I make sure we're both on the same page and that I understand exactly what you're looking for. Also, there is always time on appointment day if minor changes to the drawing need to be made. Ultimately before we begin tattooing it's important to me to be sure that you love everything about your design. Q Is my deposit refundable? No. I strongly encourage potential clients to be sure that they are ready to be tattooed before booking, because once they leave a deposit it will not be refunded. Should unforseen circumstances cause you to rechedule or cancel your appointment, your deposit will be honored for up to 6 months providing that you give at least 48 hours cancellation notice prior to your appointmant date. If a Kingdom artist is given less than 48 hours cancellation notice, the client's deposit will be forfeited and they will be required to give an additional deposit before booking another appointment. Q How old do I have to be to get a tattoo? At Kingdom Studio, you must be at least 18 years of age with a valid ID to be tattooed. Q Can I bring my children/ babies to the studio? Please DO NOT. While we absolutely love children (my wife and I have 6!!), a tattoo studio is simply not a suitable environment for children. Besides distracting the artists from concentrating and doing their best work and making it hard for clients to focus on relaxing and sitting well during their tattoo session, a tattoo studio is unsafe for children because of bio hazardous waste and potential cross contamination. Please make arrangements for childcare during your tattoo sessions; bringing them may result in your appt being rescheduled and forfeiture of your deposit. Q How should I heal my new tattoo?
If you have any other questions or concerns e-mail me and I'll be happy to help.
